Lazy Days of Summer

Catchin' some rays....

Runnin' through sprinklers...

Playin' with friends...

I miss being a kid in the summertime.

Play Ball!

About a week ago, we all went to a Salt Lake Bees game.  The boys had gotten free tickets from playing T-ball.  It was a lot of fun!  The boys really liked the mascot, Bumble.  They even got him to sign their hats.  After the game they let all the kids onto the field and they got to run the bases.  That's pretty cool for a kid.

The Biggest Little Trophy

We went to a BBQ tonight for Zach's T-Ball team.  His Coach gave him a trophy for playing and Zach was soooooooo excited!  He asked if he got to keep it.  Cute, huh?!

In Memory of Francis Hale Leavitt

This past weekend we traveled to Sacramento, California for the funeral of Shawn's Grandfather.  It was great to be with all the family and to share such good memories of a great man.  It was neat to learn that he passed away on what would have been his 71st wedding anniversary.

At his funeral he was given a military tribute with the Color Guard, a Flag, and the playing of Taps.  These are his two children, Gary Leavitt & Karen Lee.

The Frank Leavitt Family. (Only missing one grandson)

The boys don't have too many memories of their Great Grandpa, but the sure enjoyed playing with all their cousins. (Brett with Tanner Lee)  We joked that we never saw the boys all weekend except to feed them, because they were always outside playing.  Zach's favorite part of the weekend was the Boysenberry Patch in the backyard.  Brett's favorite part was the Sourdough Pancakes and fresh squeezed Orange Juice for breakfast.

On the way home from California we stopped at Donner Summit to stretch.  It was good to see our extended family, we'll miss them.

Working Girl

So if you haven't heard...I have a job.

           Discover Financial Services

Sombody actually decided to hire me.
Since living in Utah makes it impossible for us to get health insurance, I found a part-time job that would.  Wish me luck, back in the working world.

Western Days Parade

We had fun visiting our friends and family this weekend in Twin Falls.  We had a great time at the Western Days Parade.  I'm just sad we missed out on the mini donuts this year.

Zach's waving at the Shriner's.  He recently got accepted at Shriner's Hospital and they are taking excellent care of him.  He's excited to get new braces when school starts.  They have a lot of cool designs to choose from.

I think parades lose a lot of their appeal when you get older...to me it seemed like an hour long commercial.  I am glad that the kids can enjoy...even though it might just be because of all the candy that gets tossed.

McKenzie and Challis Vance.  We miss all our friends, it really was nice to see everyone.
